ZPS Zirconia Pivot System
You are many to ask for more information about our new system “ZPS” Patent Pending. We have been looking for the past months on a new mechanism witch could be smooth and fast like a bearing but without the hassle of complicated setup and maintenance We thought and tried different systems and we finally chose the Zirconia Oxide system that we will resell to knife makers interested in using it for their knives. At this day the Zirconia Oxide pivot system has never been used in the knife business. This system is very simple you just need to add and setup your knife pivot with our Zirconia Oxide bushing and washers, so we had these made for our prototype to be able to setup and test our new pivot system. This way we were able to see the technical performances of the Zirconia Oxide 1) The toughness of Zirconia Oxide make this system extremely durable 2) The setup is very simple 3) The mechanism operation is very smooth 4) No maintenance and cleaning needed compared to a bearing system 5) A very high accuracy of the mechanism related to the simple setup. We tested our system on our prototype with bushing and washers unpolished and the results are very impressive. The first production of bushing and washers that we will be receiving, will be even more impressive due to the benefits of a perfect polishing finish that we were not able to have on our prototype.
FYI : With this bushing prototype unpolished, the blade swing is at least two times better than a stainless steel bushing Our Flipper knife in frame and liner version will be available in 2016.
